Real greenery, flowers, fruits, vegetables, nuts, bark and herbs are copied and made into jewelry. \nThe process for creating this natural looking jewelry begins with creating a true-to-life sculpture from a live plant, flower, leaf. Using the lost wax technique, Michael and his artisans create molds made from the sculpture. Bronze is poured into the mold. Then comes the careful hand application of fine details. Finally, metals are patinaed, smoothed, and sometimes set with natural stones or pearls. All to bring a beautiful, wearable piece of the garden! Michael became an expert at making and manipulating molds at the School for American Crafts at Rochester Institute of Technology.
